25 Days of Giving at Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Tropical Smoothie Café has an awesome promotion going that started on December 1. The 25 days of giving social campaign features a new non-profit, celebrity or volunteer who has helped make a difference in their community each day to help raise awareness and donations for a number of charities. This is a great effort to help people figure out ways to get involved with their community.
Today, they are featuring an awesome charity located right here in Arkansas. The Thea Foundation is a local charity headquartered in the historic Argenta Arts District in downtown North Little Rock. The foundation was created by Paul and Linda Leopoulos in 2001 after realizing that their daughter's sudden involvement in visual art, dance, drama and creative writing made all the difference in the drastic transformation of Thea's grades. They learned a few short days after Thea's death in a car accident that her grades had went from C's and D's to having an A in Trig. Based on this conclusion, their programs – Scholarships, Thea’s Art Closet, Arkansas A+ Schools and many more – have been designed to inspire youth across Arkansas gain confidence and learn via creative expression. Visit the Thea Foundation website to find out how you can get involved by volunteering or donating.
Tropical Smoothie Café is also working with the #GivingTuesday organization and are featuring some of the many charities they support.
In addition, they are collecting $.25 donations in-store all December long for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. . Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been helping Camp Sunshine raise money for nine years with a million dollars raised this year alone! Visit the Camp Sunshine website for more information on how to donate or volunteer.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe has several locations here in Arkansas. Some locations include Benton, Bryant, Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Jacksonville. Visit their website for more locations. Stop by a location close to you today for lunch and join them in their tradition of giving by donating to Camp Sunshine.
It's the season of giving! Volunteering with and donating to local charities in your neighborhood is the greatest way to give back!

French Crash Course - Kindle Edition
French Crash Course is a guide to learning basic French. The book comes with free audio to aide you in pronunciation. It is easy to follow and engaging. The end of each chapter contains suggestions to help build on what has been learned.
As a homeschool mom with children that will soon be diving into foreign language, I found this book to be very useful. I have no background in foreign language and this would be a perfect introduction to French if they were interested in pursuing it further. This book provides a solid foundation to grow on. It is a great asset to our book collection.
It would also be useful if you are planning a trip. The book offers simple words and phrases that will give you the ability to ask for help if needed and order simple items.
If you are just looking for a fun way to learn a new skill, this book may be what you are looking for.
You can find it here- French Crash Course

RSVP Custom Creations Invitation Review
If you are looking for a place to purchase quality invitations and stationery, head over to RSVP Custom Creations and browse their collection of unique and custom invitations.
I recently was able to review some samples from their collection. I loved the cute design of the baby shower invitation, from the lettering fonts to the diamond accent that added a bit of flair. The initial note card had beautiful lettering on the outside and ample writing space inside. The envelope included was a perfect addition, not flimsy as to tear easy but not thick and bulky either, like some I have purchased in the past.
RSVP Custom Creations offers a great selection of variety, from baby and bridal shower invitations to birthday invitations and favor tags. The prices are comparable, affordable, high quality and the best part is that busy moms, like me, can create them and have them delivered right to your door!

Columbus' Replica Ships Field Trip Opportunity
The Columbus Foundation is bringing the Nina and Pinta back to Arkansas beginning in October with a stop in Little Rock. They also have dates scheduled for Fort Smith and Memphis, TN. The Nina is the most historically accurate Columbus replica ship ever built!
My husband and I took our kids the last time the ships were in Little Rock in November 2011. The guys in charge do a great job educating the kids, adults too, during the tours. Awesome way to step back in history and experience what life might have been like on the expeditions.
This would be an awesome field trip for homeschool groups!
Check their website for exact dates, times and more info @ http://www.thenina.com

First Sunday School Lesson
I taught my first Sunday School lesson this morning and loved it! Three Pre-K girls and I talked about Isaac and how God had a plan for him. How Isaac obeyed and trusted God because he knew that God knows what's best. God is sovereign. Completely in control of everything. All we need to do is listen and trust Him.
Beyond thankful for this opportunity and excited as I begin this new journey. I know these kids will teach me just as much, if not more, than I will teach them. I'm reminded of the saying, "if you don't teach children who God is, someone will teach them everything He isn't." I hope that above all things, they will see the light of Jesus shining through me.
